Instructor will focus on the safe care and proper handling of a Firearm. NY PISTOL SAFETY designed this course to meet and exceed the requirements necessary with the application process by County Pistol Permit Departments as well as the NYS Concealed Carry Firearms Safety Courses. We will provide all paperwork and applications at class with instructions for completion.  (Be prepared to take a pic for your passport photo 😁)

**This 16-Hour plus 2 hr hands on course replaces the previously-sufficient 4-hour Pistol Permit Safety Course**NYS no longer accepts the 4-Hour Safety Courses that were held in 2022 and earlier. For those who took a course in 2022 but never finished the pistol permit application paperwork, the 16-Hour course is the only acceptable route for application going forward.

APPLICANTS: (Requirements)

*Must be at least 21 years of age to apply for a Pistol Permit in New York State. (However, applicants can attend the NYS Concealed Carry Firearms Safety Course training at age 20 and then apply for their permit at age 21) US Citizen, ID Required (Driver’s License etc.)

Certificate of course completion is only valid for a period of one (1) year.  If certificate expires, the course MUST be retaken.   NYS requires fingerprints via Identogo only (separate fee applies)
